Join us as we travel around Queen's and Brooklyn's most famous cemeteries (Calvary, Mount Zion, Mount Olive, All Faiths, St. John, Mount Lebanon, Cypress Hills, Mount Carmel, New Union, Mount Neboh, Machpeleh, Beth Olom, and Mount Judah). Phew! Some we heard of, some we haven't, but after this tour we will know them all. Speaking of Queens, we will also be riding through some of the boro's lovely parks, which include Juniper Valley Park, Forest Park, and Highland Park. We will be traversing different neighbourhoods in Queens, which has been named "The Most Diverse of the Boros" (and, of course, just for fun, we threw in some hills) and is home to some very famous people: Ray Romano, Martin Scorsese, 50 Cent, and the Nanny herself, Fran Drescher, and not to be outdone by the Nanny, Mr. Howard Stern.
We will stop to pick up lunch from one of the restaurants along Woodhaven Blvd. There are several cuisines to choose from, including Greek & Mediterranean, Colombian, Thai, and Indian. Then we will eat in Juniper Valley Park a few blocks away.
What to Bring: your bike stuff, lights, hydration, spare tube, helmet, and your mask to go indoors; bag to carry your lunch. Weather—Oh, we hope Mother Nature will be kind to us, but always check the website the night before or early in the orning of. Rain, snow (we hope not), or extreme high winds will reschedule this ride. Please dress for the season.
Come join us as we go round the cemeteries and oooh and ahhh at some of the most beautiful cemeteries in Queens and Brooklyn on an early spring day. Dust off those bikes and bring your climbing gears. We have a FUN HILL to climb just for you on David and Maureen's excellent adventure.
