5BBC and Black Girls Do Bike/Queens-LI invite you to spend a day with Shirley Chisholm. This ride is sponsored by both clubs, and hits locations in her North Crown Heights District of historical significance. Among the places we will be visiting are:

• Various Houses where Shirley lived in the Area
• Beautiful Girls High in Brooklyn
• Bellerose Ballroom [now abandoned]
• Shirley Chisholm Circle in Brower Park
• Lubovitch World Headquarters. - Shirley and Schneerson

After wandering around Crown Heights, we will then head out to Shirley Chisholm Park for a picnic lunch. It is essential to bring your lunch, as there will be nowhere at the Park to purchase food. This will be a good place for the two groups to mix and mingle. After lunch, we ride back along the water, up Bedford Avenue and return to Grand Army Plaza.

The ride starts and ends at Grand Army Plaza – at the entrance to Prospect Park. For those coming from LI, the start is only a few blocks from the LIRR Atlantic Terminal stop. The ride is 25 miles, and under 500 feet of elevation. It will be done at a moderate pace. There will be a ten minute grace period from start time. Please register with your club.
