About this event

An out-and-back to Kensico Dam in Valhalla, New York. We will meet at the Van Cortlandt Park entrance, 242nd Street and Broadway, at 9:30 a.m. (Easily accessible via the #1 train.) The restrooms are within walking distance.
The route is 36 miles long along the Bronx River Greenway and includes a climb to the dam's top. Lunch will be on Cleveland Street (mile 19), where there are a few restaurants to choose from. This is an Advanced-pace ride. A brief description is provided below to help you decide if this ride is for you. Please do not sign up unless you are able to keep up. Please bring standard cycling accessories such as spare tubes, tools for changing a flat tire, hydration, and bike food. Helmets are required.
Finally, if you end up on the waitlist and receive a notification that a spot has become available, you must open the email and register for the ride using the link provided in the email. The system does not automatically bump you up to the ride if a spot becomes available.

These rides average 15-17 mph on the flats, with or without point/drop/sweep. Suitable for advanced riders who want to see the scenery but not to dawdle. Good choice for riders who want to ride longer distances and or faster paces.
