In Palisades Interstate Park (NJ) there's a small white house that predates the American Revolution. Whether it was used by British General Cornwallis as his headquarters is controversial but it was definitely a tavern in the early 1800's and is now a park museum.
Kearney House will be open today for music, stories, games, hot cider, and conviviality. There is no charge to visit. (Donations, of course, are welcome.)
Our ride meets 11:00 AM at Dinosaur Playground, 97th St & Riverside Drive. We will take the greenway to the GW Bridge and then it's scenic Henry Hudson Drive "River Road" to Alpine Marina. There will be cider and snacks at Kearney House but lunch will not be served so you should eat a big breakfast or bring food along.
