Kensico Dam: A Love Letter to Westchester's Bronx River Greenway

Westchester's Bronx River Greenway is the antithesis of the (boring) Putnam. The BRG has short steep hills, sharp turns, narrow bridges to go over, low bridges to go under, and an optional 2-mile unpaved segment. Which is why it's so much fun.

We start at 242nd St & Broadway, just inside Van Cortlandt Park, 1 block south of the rest rooms. Lunch will be outdoors in Kensico Dam Plaza. You can bring your own or pick up lunch en route. Ride mileage is 36 with return to Van Cortlandt.

You should be comfortable riding in a group. Usual 5BBC guidelines apply: stay between the leader and the sweep, keep single file, and call out stopping and hazards. Bring water and a spare tube. Helmets are required on all 5BBC rides.
