This is a pretty hilly ride. We start at J. Hood Wright Park on Fort Washington Ave. at W.174th St. (bathrooms) and head over the GW Bridge and River Road (BIG HILL). Then we'll take a little detour to the State Line Lookout, (another hill}, b/c the view is so beautiful. We'll continue to Piermont via Tallman State Park, (hard pack trail, not asphalt) then to Nyack, where you can choose among the many places to eat, (I favor pizza at Turiello's.) After lunch it's over the Cuomo Bridge back to the east side of the Hudson. We'll visit Lyndhurst estate immediately after the bridge, then up a really big hill (Harriman Road) to get to the South County Rail Trail where we get some respite before we hit the the BRONX (hills). Then it's over the Henry Hudson Parkway Bridge, through Inwood Hill Park and back to the GW. Please bring your usual stuff, tire repair supplies, water, snacks, and your sense of adventure and direction.
