A meander to moderate paced ride (12/15mph) through Oakdale, Idle Hour, Heckscher State Park and the surrounding area of East Islip and late lunch in Bayshore. No stress, no speed and this will not be a drop and point ride. Ride is posted for 37 miles (subject to changes.) The ride will be a group ride. Will ride along the water at times, back roads visiting various points of interest as well as stopping at some of the canals from yesteryear. There will be plenty of places to stop to explore and take pictures, dip your toe in the water as well as stopping for pizza and beverages at a fun local pizzeria in Bayshore. We will meet at the Oakdale LIRR train station for those taking an early LIRR from the city that arrives at 8:56am (Babylon Line). There is plenty of free day parking at the Oakdale LIRR train station for those choosing to travel by car. The ride will begin once the train arrives and will return to Oakdale LIRR for the return trip to the city with an option to drop earlier from the ride after Pizza and take the train from Bay Shore instead - Important Note: Train Schedule Subject to Change and responsibility of riders to confirm.
