Spuyten Duyvel - A Bronx Romp
About this event

We start at the top of Central Park heading north through Harlem. Along the way, we will make a stop at Jumel Mansion/Sylvan Terrace. Then it's across the High Bridge and into the Bronx. We meaner up University Ave, along the Jerome Reservoir and through Van Cortlandt Park. Lunch is at the half way point of the ride at the Tibbett Diner, which has been slinging great diner food since 1968.
After lunch, we explore the Spuyten Duyvil neighborhood of The Bronx. Think great water views from the Half Moon Overlook, and the atmospheric Villa Charlotte Bronte. After skirting Marble Hill, we cross the Broadway Bridge and head to the Harlem River Waterfront trail. Then through the streets back to the top of the park.
The ride is 20 miles long, but does have it's fair share of hills, with a total elevation over 950 feet. As Tibbett diner has no inside parking - it is essential to bring a sturdy lock. Finally, there are parts of this ride that have not been scouted - so be prepared for an oopsie or two. But it looks like a fun day.
