Untermyer Gardens in Yonkers!!

About this event

Untermyer Gardens was built by Samuel J. Untermyer in 1917 as part of his Greystone estate and given to the City of Yonkers in 1947. It has suffered from neglect over the years but is now being restored to its former elegance. The Gardens offer plantings, architectural gems, and stunning views across the Hudson to the Palisades of New Jersey. Entrance is free at all times.

Meet 10:00 AM at Van Cortlandt Park, 242nd St & Broadway, terminal of the #1 train, in the big circle just south of the subway stairs. It's 8 miles to the Gardens, much of it on car-free greenways. The last mile before the Gardens has steep hills. We will tour the Gardens together. Lunch either at Gianna's in Yonkers or Claudy's at the end of the ride across from Van Cortlandt.
