Last year, Mark Guralnick found Taste Good, a casual Malaysian restaurant in Elmhurst, Queens. The 5BBC's restaurant critics (a/k/a riders) tried it and found that it was aptly named. This spring, the NY Times included it in their list of the 100 best New York City restaurants of 2026.
Is the Times' critic surreptitiously mining the 5BBC website to get their restaurant ideas? Join us on this 19 1/2-mile moderate pace (12-15 mph) ride to see -- we won't get an answer, but we will have a great lunch trying to find out. We will accommodate Happy Face riders (10-12 mph) in the rear. The menu has many different dishes; here are links: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taste-good-malaysian-cuisine-elmhurst?select=uZDaLZ8RTTLBK2aexhrEAQ and https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taste-good-malaysian-cuisine-elmhurst?select=ygOSn4Pgu-sZNiTVtS_hUQ.
The restaurant is cash only.
Please bring a bike in good working order. Please make sure your tires are properly inflated, bring a spare tube, sunscreen, water and snacks to keep you fortified. The restaurant is at roughly the 10 mile point of the ride. Helmets are required on 5BBC rides.
We will be locking our bikes on the sidewalk by the restaurant, so please bring a lock.
As always, check your email before setting out, just in case. Any changes will be emailed to registered participants by 8:00 AM on ride day. And if you register but have to drop, don't forget to un-register.
