About this event
If you've never had a concussion, count your blessings.
If you've ever had a concussion, you may or may note know just how complicated the recovery can be.
This is Allan Friedman - club President. I've had two in my life, one off a horse at 12 and one a trip and fall while walking and tripping on an NYPD barrier at 62 - 50 years apart! And fortunately, both were mild and I recovered fairly quickly. As fate would have it, a friend in a bicycle club over the Hudson in New Jersey, referred Al Rocco to me. He has a story to tell that everyone who rides and might some day fall - needs to hear. I spoke with Al and let me tell you - he has a lot of valuable information to share - a good guy to know.
Al Rocco is retired from a thirty-year career in technology-focused B2B sales. He's a proud father of two adult children and is married to Carolyn, his steadfast partner through various challenges. An avid cyclist, Al rides 100-150 miles weekly with the Bicycle Touring Club of North Jersey. His professional background includes roles at high tech companies. Al holds degrees in Economics and Anthropology from Cornell University, after graduating from Regis High School in NYC. Al currently volunteers with the Concussion & CTE Foundation as Peer Support Counselor helping to guide others to effective treatment.
Please join us on Wednesday August 19th at Pier 57 to hear his story directly from Al and participate in the Q and A.
