On Sunday April 26, our “Get out of Town” series takes us through the hills of Greenwich and finally through Greenwich Point Park. Lunch will be at Mile 18 at Sally’s APizza in Stamford https://sallysapizza.com/locations/stamford/).
Please note, this is a moderate ride, but please note there are lots of hills so be prepared. We would list this as an UPPER MODERATE ride, but unfortunately there is not a listing for such a ride. Please be aware that you should be able to keep a pace of 14-15 mph on level terrain.
We are limiting capacity for this ride to a total of 12 because we prefer riding as a group, with limited point-drop-sweep.
We will explore the backcountry of Greenwich before returning to the shore to explore Greenwich Point Park. The Metro North train out of Grand Central departs at 9:36 AM getting to Greenwich at 10:32 AM. Please meet towards the middle of the train where there is a taxi stand. For those driving, please park in the parking lot that is located on the northbound (train travel) side which is about a block from the station and be ready to ride when the train folks arrive.
Please bring a bike in good working order. Please make sure your tires are properly inflated, bring a spare tube, sunscreen, water and snacks to keep you fortified and devices/bikes charged. As always, a properly fitted helmet is required.
If you are unable to attend the ride, please "unregister" in a timely fashion so that those on the waitlist can move up and take the spot. Lastly, if you sign up for the waitlist and receive a waitlist notification, you must open the email and register for the ride using the link provided in the email. The system does not automatically bump you up to the ride if a spot becomes available
