Neir's Tavern - Serving Cyclists Since 1856
About this event

Neir's Tavern in Woodhaven opened in 1829, located directly across from the historic Union Course racetrack. It is the oldest continually operating bar in NYC - and one of the oldest in the country. The horses have long gone, but the vibe remains.
To get here, we ride through Brooklyn and Ridgewood, climb Cypress Hill, and take a lap or two around beautiful Highland Park. After lunch, there is another climb as we enter Forest Park. The ride is 20 miles, and there is 500 feet of elevation - the steepest grade is 6.0.
As it is still Winter, there will only be a 5-minute grace period at the start - then it's Wheels Down. Please check the website for any changes due to the weather. Parking is ON STREET, so make sure you take a lock, rather than relying on someone else.
