The 5BBC Montauk Century was, for decades, one of the premier bicycling events in the NYC area. In the spirit of the Montauk Century we now offer this 66-miler that includes the best parts of that ride.
We will take the LIRR to Speonk where our ride starts.
If you're coming from Penn Station your train leaves at 6:42 and arrives at Jamaica at 7:02. Change at Jamaica to the Montauk line train which leaves at 7:13.
If you're coming from Atlantic Terminal the 6:44 train arrives at Jamaica 7:05. Change at Jamaica to the Montauk line train which leaves at 7:13. That's only 8 minutes to change trains. To be sure of making the 7:13 in Jamaica take the 6:24 from Atlantic Terminal which arrives at Jamaica 6:45.
If you're coming from Jamaica your Montauk line train leaves at 7:13.

The return train leaves Montauk at 5:18 pm and arrives Penn Station at 8:30 pm.
Bring cash for lunch and dinner which we will pick up in Montauk to eat on the train home. Also bring a bungee for the train and lights for your bike. There will be enough daylight for the ride but you do have to get home from Penn Station.
History
The Montauk Century is more than a ride—it's a tradition that began in 1964, when cyclists first headed east to the end of Long Island. Stewardship later passed to the AYH Bike Committee—now 5BBC—but the spirit never changed: long roads, committed riders, and the unforgettable roll into Montauk.
Today, as the originator of the Montauk Century, 5BBC continues that legacy with the reimaged Montauk Series, Many Ways to Montauk. Ride it point-to-point, make a weekend of it, or find your own way east. However you get there, the destination and that feeling when you roll into town, remains the same.
