Some of NYC's best greenways are alongside the Jamaica Bay and in Shirley Chisholm State Park and are easily reached by ferry from Manhattan.

The NYC Ferry to Rockaway departs E 90th St at 9:20, E 34th St at 9:34, Stuyvesant Cove at 9:41, Wall St Pier 11 at 10:00, and Sunset Park BAT at 10:18.

From Rockaway we ride the Cross Bay Bridge and Jamaica Bay Greenway to Shirley Chisholm State Park. Lunch is at Opera Cafe in Sheepshead Bay, mile 19. Ride ends at the Brooklyn Museum subway station (#2 and #3), mile 27.
