About this event
A nice jaunt through some burbs, some country, some shoreline, and a circle through the Nassau County Museum of Art sculpture park featuring the above Botero. (https://nassaumuseum.org/the-outdoors). A highlight of this ride is lunch at the Forest Avenue Diner (https://www.forestavegrill.com/menus) which has, among other things, an excellent selection of home made soups! Start from Westbury LIRR (Train from Atlantic Ave at 8:44 am, changing at Jamaica to the Huntington train, from Penn at 9:00 am direct to Westbury, arrive at 9:48, parking near the station). Meet on the south side of the station by the entrance to the parking lot on Railroad Ave.
Something like 1700 ft. of climbing, steepest grade around 7% but not for long anywhere. Here is a provisional version of the route. I'll have the final version the night before.
This is a moderate ride, but we'll be at the upper end of that range on the flats.
