We have done rides to many of the communities on the North Shore of Long Island in recent years, but one that we neglected was Eaton’s Neck. No more. Join us as we pedal across the Ashoraken Isthmus to get scenic views along the Long Island Sound from the beaches of Eaton’s Neck.
We will start at the Syosset LIRR station with the train that arrives at 9:33am. Lunch will be at La Porta in Northport (https://laportanorthport.com/) at mile 30. Although this is the North Shore, this is not a very hilly ride. However, there are still hills. RWGPS lists the elevation at 1,637 feet. We are listing this ride as Moderate, but you will be expected to ride in the Upper Moderate range of 14-15 mph on flat terrain. We all climb at different rates, so we will regroup at the top of the hills.
Make sure to bring snacks to keep you fortified since lunch is not until three-quarters into the ride.
Below is the RWGPS.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS:
If you are unable to attend the ride, please "unregister" in a timely fashion so that those on the waitlist can move up and take the spot. Lastly, if you sign up for the waitlist and receive a waitlist notification, you must open the email and register for the ride using the link provided in the email. The system does not automatically bump you up to the ride if a spot becomes available
