
This “Get Out of Town” ride takes us through scenic Ulster County. The route travels through many small towns and farmlands. Though there are some hills there are no demanding climbs.
We start and finish at the Metro North station in Poughkeepsie, NY. We will stop for lunch in New Paltz at mile 25 of this 51 mile ride. According to RWGPS, there is 1,692 feet of elevation, with the steepest climb being a grade of 5.2%.
If you are unable to attend the ride, please "unregister" in a timely fashion so that those on the waitlist can move up and take the spot. Lastly, if you sign up for the waitlist and receive a waitlist notification, you must open the email and register for the ride using the link provided in the email. The system does not automatically bump you up to the ride if a spot becomes available. There is an 8:38 AM train from Grand Central arriving in Poughkepsie at 10:30 AM.
Please bring a bike in good working condition. Make sure your tires are properly inflated before heading from home. Bring a spare tube, a helmet, sunscreen, at least one water bottle and snacks to keep you fortified before we reach our lunch spot.
