The Dutchess Rail Trail runs from Poughkeepsie to Hopewell Junction where it connects to the Maybrook Rail Trail to Brewster. The Maybrook is very rural along most of its route; don't expect there to be any services after we leave Hopewell Junction.
Our train from GCT to Poughkeepsie leaves at 8:55. We arrive 10:57 at Poughkeepsie. Use the MTA TrainTime app to purchase your ticket.
Do not wait in the GCT waiting room. Go directly to the platform and find a place for you and your bike.
From Poughkeepsie we ride the Mid-Hudson Bridge path where we will listen to Joseph Bertolozzi's Bridge Music. Then we pass the Sojourner Truth statue and cross the Walkway Over the Hudson. The Dutchess Rail Trail takes us to lunch at mile 16, Daddy O's in Hopewell Junction. Then we get onto the Maybrook Rail Trail. Our ride ends in Brewster, mile 41.
