Looking for a day in the country? Join us for a full day's ride along the Hudson Valley.
We will start in Poughkeepsie with the train that arrives at 9:57am, cross the Hudson River, and ride through the towns and valleys on the west side of the river.
Lunch will be at Mariner’s Harbor (https://marinersharbor.com/waterfront-dining/menu/) at the half-way point in Kingston (mile 27). After lunch, we will take a more westerly route south to New Paltz and then return to Poughkeepsie via the Walkway over the Hudson.
This is a fairly demanding trip. We are listing it as Advanced since there is climbing of 2,500+ feet. We all climb at different rates, so we will regroup at the top of the hills. On flat terrain, we will go at the high end of Moderate pace (14-15 mph).
Make sure that you are able to handle this route as there are no bail-out points along the way.
This ride is accessible by public transport or private car. We will meet in Poughkeepsie at the train station and be ready to ride at 10:00am. If you’re arriving via Metro North, there is a train departing Grand Central at 7:55am, and arriving at 9:57 am.
For those driving, please find parking in either the Train station parking lot or somewhere nearby, and be ready to go when the train folks arrive.
