About this event
Join us for a nice urban Summer Streets treat, riding Park Ave south to the Brooklyn Bridge. Leaving Cunningham Park we will traverse iconic Flushing Meadows Park and take the low traveled 53rd Ave bike path through Corona to Queens Blvd/Skillman Ave with Manhattan skyline views. We cross the 59th Bridge which has recently opened separate bike and pedestrian lanes. From the Brooklyn Bridge, we will take Flushing Ave on our way back to Flushing.
Chinatown lunch break can be at sitting street tables on Mott or Doyer Street. I can recommend what may suit your palate. How about the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory tropical flavored ice cream for dessert? Popular demand by those who have indulged before!
Ride metrics: 35 miles distance, 10-12 mph pace, 700 feet elevation, 2 bridges, mostly urban streets with bike lanes.
