We're going to head from Grand Army Plaza to Sunset Park to enjoy the food of Yun Nan Flavour Garden on this 26-mile ride.
"How's that" you say? Sunset Park is less than 4 miles from GAP, so how can this be a 26-mile ride? Well, our route will be ever-so-slightly out of the way to follow the Brooklyn waterfront to Coney Island and then through Brooklyn neighborhoods to our destination.
Yun Nan Flavour Garden is known for their Crossing the Bridge noodles. And while we have many fine bridges here in the five boroughs, in this case the name refers to a bridge in Yunnan province. Other dishes include rice noodles (in soup or separately), seaweed salad, cold noodles with chicken, and dumplings.
Here are some reviews, if you want to read more. Though the reviews are several years old, recent visits confirm that the food is still excellent.
Our route will have us arriving at the restaurant around mile 22 of the ride, so bring snacks if you want. The ride from the restaurant back to GAP after lunch will be short.
Please bring hydration and sunscreen, and at least one spare tube. Helmets are mandatory on all 5BBC rides.
Please note, this will be a Moderate ride in the front and we will accommodate Happy Face pace in the back. Please try to keep at least 10 mph minimum.
