Climbing for Donuts

This will be an advanced ride, 12-15 mph on flats, with long and some steep hills. This route will take us on a 42 mile loop with over 2,200 ft. of climbing. We’ll start at Katonah and cross through Goldens Bridge, North Salem, Croton Falls, and Yorktown Heights. We’ll be traveling on (hopefully) mainly quiet and beautiful roads, we’ll pass several lakes and ponds in the area. We may find some unpaved roads as well so please be prepared.

You must be comfortable riding up and down hills as there are minimal bailout options.

There is a water stop and restroom at mile 13. There is a donut stop mile 18. As this is a scout we will decide as a group on lunch at either mile 25 at either a deli or pizzeria or 31 where there are a few options. Please be sure you have full water bottles and plenty of snack foods.

This ride is accessible by public transport or private car. Meet in Katonah at the train station and be ready to ride at 9:30am. If you’re arriving via Metro North, there is a train departing Grand Central at 8:09am, and arriving at 9:22 am. Please use the bathroom on the train as we are not sure what the bathroom situation will be like in town.

For those driving, please find parking in either the train station parking lot or somewhere nearby, and be ready to go when the train folks arrive.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: If you are unable to attend the ride, please "unregister" in a timely fashion so that those on the waitlist can move up and take the spot. Lastly, if you sign up for the waitlist and receive a waitlist notification, you must open the emailand register for the ride using the link provided in the email. The system does not automatically bump you up to the ride if a spot becomes available.
All riders should come equipped with hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube and tire levers, sunscreen, snacks, full water bottles, and a bike in good condition. Additionally, be familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
