About this event
- We're heading up north to Ulster County and will ride 4 historic bridges: Springtown Truss Bridge in New Paltz, Rosendale Trestle, Perrine's Bridge (2nd oldest covered bridge in NY), and of course the one and only Walkway Over the Hudson.
- Ride distance is 40 miles and elevation gain is a moderate 1350 ft. The route includes 8 miles of crushed stone and hardpack trail that should be acceptable to most cyclists but there could be a few muddy spots.
- Ride capacity is limited due to Metro North restrictions.
- If you're taking the train from Grand Central: Take the 7:50 to Poughkeepsie. Buy your ticket in advance with the MTA TrainTime app. Do not wait in the waiting room. Go directly to the platform, get on the train, and find a place for you and your bike.
- If you're driving to Poughkeepsie or have another way of getting there: Meet us at the station at 9:57.
- Lunch is at a restaurant in Rosendale.
- Helmets are required on all 5BBC rides. A bungee will help secure your bike on the train.
