An Easter Sunday Ride to Ten Historic Churches
It’s Easter Sunday, let’s go to a church – 10 of them. Join us for a 32-mile ride to view 10 historic churches in Manhattan. We’ll start at famous Trinity Church at Broadway and Wall Street and ride North visiting New York landmarks like Old St. Patrick’s, Grace Church and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. A short history of each church and its architecture will be read at our stops. Lunch will be at the excellent Inwood Farm Restaurant on Indian Road at 218th Street. After lunch we’ll head South to the Hudson River Greenway and ride it 12.5 miles to lower Manhattan, ending at Trinity Church.
Helmets ae required. Bring water, a spare tube and pump or CO2 cartridge, and money for lunch. Please make sure that your bicycle is in good working order as we’ll have limited ability to make repairs.
This is a Moderate ride, and we will keep a good, steady pace at 13-14 mph. Please don’t sign up unless you are able to keep up.
Cue sheets will be available at the start. Since we’re riding only in Manhattan getting lost is not an option. Subway bail-out opportunities abound.
Significant rain and/or high winds cancels the ride. Check the 5BBC website the morning of the ride after 7:30 to see if the ride is cancelled.
