Ronkonkoma to Mt. Sinai - Fitness Series
About this event
Come join us for a pre-spring training ride to get your legs moving on mostly (but not always) quieter Long Island roads. We meet at about 10:20 at the Ronkonkoma LIRR station by the Dunkin Donuts on the north side of the station. A train from the City is scheduled to arrive at 10:18. Afterwards, we will head north eventually on some scenic/historic roads than east until we reach one of the newest rail trails on Long Island. On the way back we will make our way through parts of residential Mt. Sinai with some long stretches of open riding before making our way back to Ronkonkoma.
The ride is mostly rolling/flat with a few shorter hills with no hill greater than a 5% grade. Ride will likely be at the higher end of moderate as we get ourselves back into riding shape. We will make a short food stop at a bagel shop off of the rail trail. Please bring money for food, snacks, hydration and an upbeat positive attitude ready to discover and explore.
