Join us for a scout ride where we’ll start at the Poughkeepsie train station and make our way over the Walkway over the Hudson, explore some roads in Highland and head up to Escopus and Ulster Park before making our way back down to New Paltz. On the way back we’ll take the Mid-Hudson bridge and end back at the parking lot of the train station.

In true scout fashion there are a couple of lunch options, around miles 33-34. We will decide the day of, and as a group what we want to eat. This is an advanced ride. We’ll keep the pace at 15-17mph on flats and we’ll have a little over 2,200 ft of climbing. Make sure that you are able to handle this route as there are no bail-out points along the way. 

If you’re arriving via Metro North, there is a train departing Grand Central at 7:50 am, arriving at 9:59 am.

For those driving, please park at the Poughkeepsie train station. There is a small parking lot off Detective John Falcone Memorial Ave and a much bigger lot at the cross of North Water Street and Main. I will be parked in the lot by Main as that is where the ride will end.

We will meet inside the train terminal by the waiting room and ticket windows. 

We plan to roll no later than 10:15am after the train arrives and we do our quick bike check.

Ride Leader Trainee Frank Caputzal will be co-leading the ride.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot. All riders should come equipped with a helmet, a spare tube and tire levers, sunscreen, snacks, full water bottles, front and back LIGHTS in case we get home late, and a bike in good condition. Additionally be familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
