Sunday Cycling in the Suburbs
About this event

Join us for a true scout ride—meaning we haven’t ridden this route before, so it’s a fresh adventure for all of us! I spotted this gem via another club, and it looks promising: long stretches with minimal stops, few turns, and a classic suburban vibe. It’s mostly on-road riding with very little greenway, perfect for experienced cyclists who enjoy a steady rhythm.
We’ll roll for about 45 miles at an Advance touring pace of 14–16 mph. (That’s the average pace, though it may vary depending on wind, a bit of elevation, and how the ride flows overall.) Around mile 24.6, we’ll take a quick snack break to refuel—nothing too long, so bring hydration and enough snacks to stay strong throughout the ride.
You can preview the ride here: RWGPS Sunday Cycling in the Suburbs. We’ll meet on the platform at the Wyandanch LIRR station if you're coming by train. Driving in? Look for us on the eastbound platform.
Let’s explore this new route together and see where it takes us!
