Sami's Kabab House - Afghan Delights

About this event

Sami's Kabab House is a neighborhood joint that serves up some delicious Afghan food. Here is what one reviewer said in The Infatuation - Best Restaurants in Queens, "Thanks to Sami’s, Astoria can claim some of NYC’s best Afghan food. Their lamb and beef kofta kebabs are worth traveling for, the borani banjan comes covered in yogurt that melts into a bed of fluffy seasoned rice, and the vinegary leek aushak is a must-order.".

The ride leaves from GAP at at civilized 10:30. We ride through Williamsburgh and Greenpoint crossing the Pulaski. Then we ride along the gorgeous LIC waterfront with an optional loop around Roosevelt Island. Lunch at Samis is at Mile 15. We then wind our way back to Brooklyn crossing over the Greenpoint Bridge. Along the way - there is a potential stop at the Alewife Brewery. Group vote.

Ride is 25 Miles with 550 feet of elevation. Steepest climb is only a 3.3% grade. There will only be a five minute grace period at the start of the ride. Bring: spare tube, layer clothing, lights, good lock, and a spirit of adventure. Please check the web site for any time changes or cancellations.

We are fortunate to have Leadership Candidate Laurita Hidalgo as the sweep for this adventure.
